Man Robbed of More Than $8K in Camera Equipment

The 76th Precinct is still searching for the suspect.

It was a case of lights, camera, assault over the weekend, when a Brooklyn man was robbed of more than $8,000 worth of camera equipment in broad daylight.

According to police reports, a local resident was walking at 3:40 p.m. near the corner of Richards and Pioneer Streets in Red Hook on Sunday, March 17, when he became the victim of a robbery.

The neighbor, 34, was shoved violently from behind by an unknown individual who removed his bag and immediately fled, cops said.

Items inside of the tote were valued at approximately $8,150, including a Nikon D600 camera, multiple lenses, a Nikon flash and a MacBook Air laptop, said police.

Officers of the 76th Precinct are currently searching for a man described as a dark-skinned Hispanic, standing 5 foot 6 with short hair and wearing a red jacket. The crime is still under investigation.
