Man Resisting Arrest Attempts To Swallow Bag of Weed

Officers of the 76th Precinct were able to stop the individual before he ingested a Ziploc baggie.

A man attempted to swallow a bag of weed while cops arrested him over the weekend, according to police reports.

While patrolling the neighborhood on Monday, March 11 at 2:35 a.m. an officer of the 76th Precinct observed a man throwing unknown objects out the window of a grey Mazda. Upon stopping the driver at the intersection of 4th Street and Hoyt Street, the individual was then observed with a Ziploc bag of marijuana in his hands.

When asked to hand over the evidence, the driver instead attempted to stuff the baggie in his mouth and swallow it. Cops were able to prevent the man from completing the action, police said.

Though suspects in possession of drugs often attempt to swallow plastic baggies, the action is in fact quite dangerous and contributed to the death of one Florida man in 2009.
