Man Arrested After Break-in at Picnic Boutique

The Cobble Hill children's clothing store was the latest in a string of burglaries, say cops.

A Cobble Hill boutique was the latest target of break-ins occurring at local businesses, according to police reports. A man has since been arrested and he may be connected to the rash of burglaries, said a source.

On Tuesday, July 10 at 2 a.m. officers of the responded to a 911 call of an alarm going off at the , located at 192 Amity Street near Court Street.

Upon arriving at the scene, cops observed that the shop's door had been pushed in, lock still in tact, but the frame was broken. Items removed included a cash register valued at $348 and $430 cash that had been inside of it.

Luis Caiola, 44, was arrested not long after the incident and charged with breaking into Picnic. Police are currently investigating whether Caiola is tied to previous burglaries at local businesses, including .
