Male In Cherry Picker Hit By Beer Truck

Accident occurred on Hicks Street and Hamilton Avenue

A cherry picker with a man inside it was hit by a truck at Hamilton Avenue and Hicks Street.

The man inside was unconcious and taken to Lutheran Hospital after the accident which occurred at 9:45 a.m., the Fire Department said.

At the scene at 10 a.m., a body was on top of a Sixpoint Beer Truck.

"We didn't see it, but we heard a thud," said Margaret, an employee at Moen Electric, located at 155 Hamilton Ave., directly next to where the accident occurred. "It was a big thud you know, it's not a normal one."

The truck that hit the cherry picker was operated by Marinos Fetfatzes.

"The thing just came down, I don't know how," Fetfatzes said.

The accident occured by the entrance to the Battery Tunnel.

"This is a dangerous job," said the partner of the male who was struck.
