Student Grabs Teacher's Wrist

A 17-year-old student at the was arrested on Wednesday, Dec. 1 and charged with assault. The victim was a 50-year-old female high school teacher. The victim reported she was trying to turn off a computer when the student grabbed her right wrist and twisted it. The victim said she had previously asked the student to turn off the computer. The victim was taken to Long Island College Hospital and treated for pain and discomfort.

Stolen Bike

A black Trek mountain bike was stolen from outside 82 Carroll St. sometime between November 11 at 8:15 am and December 1 at 2:30 pm. A plastic chain had locked the bike to a fence and was cut off. No arrests have been made.

A 2005 tan Honda CRV was scratched up on the passenger side with an unknown object outside 591 Henry Street on December 4 at 7 pm. No arrests have been made.

iPhone Thief Caught on Camera

A 21-year-old female left a $400 iPhone in an unlocked locker at at 348 Court Street on December 3. Between 2:49 and 3:30 pm the phone was stolen. The thief was caught on camera and identified. Police went to the thief's house and arrested the 30-year-old female, who fessed up to stealing the phone.

Cabbie Tries to Get Paid and Gets Injured in the Process

A yellow cab taxi driver picked up a passenger on December 3 on 47th St. and Second Avenue in Manhattan and dropped the passenger off at 378 Baltic Street. The passenger said he had to go into the apartment building to get money and the cabbie followed him and saw him push the button for the 10th floor. The cabbie called 911 at 9:14 pm and when the police officer arrived, the cabbie tripped and fell shattering a glass door and suffering a minor injury. The cabbie said he did not want to prosecute and so no arrests were made. $30 was lost.
