Gunshots At Carroll Park; What Does it Mean?

What to think of reported incidents at Carroll Park.

Gunshots at Carroll Park Monday, as first reported on local blog Pardon Me For Asking, have caused concern in the community.

According to the report, two gunshots were heard at the park around 7:50 p.m. Monday. This, along with a report of a fight among kids in the park, has helped escalate some of the concerns.

In a neighborhood like Carroll Gardens, incidents like this are not expected. But living in a high-density area such as Brooklyn, these things do happen.

The New York Times also picked up the story, showing that some in the area are worried, while others view it as an unfortunate part of life in a big city.

Reactions ranging from shock to indifference were sprinkled across social media throughout the week as well as news of the incidents spread.
