Fort Greene Man Arrested in Connection to Carroll Gardens Burglaries

Rochard Woods, 22, was placed under arrest and has been charged with burglary and petit larceny.

A man was arrested Thursday in connection to at least three commercial burglaries within Carroll Gardens.

On Thursday, Oct. 18, a woman saw someone enter Abilene Restaurant and Bar at 442 Court St. through the sidewalk doors. When she went to see what the person was doing, she caught the man trying to enter the liquor cage. He then fled.

Police searched the area and discovered the same man entering the clothing boutique located at Try Rae's First, 430 Court St. As the officers entered the boutique, they found him reaching over the counter attempting to take money out of the cash register.

The suspect, identified as 22-year-old Rochard Woods, was placed under arrest and has been charged with burglary and petit larcency.

Following ongoing investigations, Woods, who lives in Fort Greene, has also been charged in connection to a series of incidents, including burglarizing Super Laundromat at 355 Smith St. on Oct. 5, and Zaytoons at 283 Smith St. on Oct. 13. Woods has also been charged with petit larceny for removing an undetermined amount of money from Izakaya on Smith at 176 Smith St. on Oct. 10.

Good god, she's been here forever! Just say no thanks and move on. She's harmless.
