Five Rushed to Hospital After Elevator Breakdown

A broken elevator at the Brooklyn Detention Center sent five to the hospital.

Five people were taken to Brooklyn Hospital after getting stuck in an elevator at the Brooklyn Detention Center this morning, NYPD said.

Police received a call at 9:27 a.m. for a broken elevator at the Detention Center on Atlantic Avenue. Of the five who were trapped inside, one had a seizure and another had an asthma attack.

Police said they didn’t know how long the injured were inside the elevator.
