Fire Breaks Out in President St. Brownstone

No one was injured, according to FDNY


A Carroll Gardens brownstone caught fire Saturday evening, FDNY has confirmed.

Firefighters responded to a 911 call at 9:20 p.m. that the bottom floor of a four-story home located at 290 President St., between Smith and Court Streets, was ablaze. No less than 12 units were called into action, involving roughly 60 men. 

Upon arriving at the residence, which is located next door to Rite Aid and directly facing Carroll Park, responders stated that all tenants of the multi-family dwelling had been evacuated.

No injuries were reported and the flames were brought under control within 30 minutes, FDNY said.
