Gun-Toting Man Robs Deli
A Columbia Street deli was robbed by a masked, gun-wielding bandit who made off with hundreds in cash--and five packs of cigarettes.
The man, whose face was covered with a black bandana, charged into the Carroll Garden Deli at 245 Columbia Street at 11:10 p.m. and demanded cash as he brandished a semi-automatic weapon, according to a police report.

After snatching $800 from the register, the man then grabbed five packs of Newports, ordered the person behind the register to the ground and warned them not to call cops before running off.
Police describe the robber as 40-year-old man standing six feet tall and weighing 240 pounds.

Two men made off with cash and a camera after smashing through the front window at Hibino restaurant at 333 Henry Street in the morning hours of May 16.
They took a Canon Powershot Camera and an envelope containing $130 from behind the kitchen counter and left through the broken window.
One is described as standing approximately six feet tall and weighing 200 pounds. The other is described as roughly 5-foot-10 and 180 pounds.
Manhandled Mercedes
The glass was pulled out of the driver-side mirror frame of a 2010 Mercedes-Benz parked at 122 1st Place, between Smith and Court. The owner, a 74-year-old man, had parked at that spot on May 16. When he returned to the car the next day, he found that the mirror, worth $1,200, had been swiped.
Attempted Burglary Caught on Security Camera
On May 14 a man came home to his Columbia Street apartment to find one of his windows half-open, with fingerprints on the pane. He said that a security camera recorded someone trying to enter his apartment, but the break-in was unsuccessful and nothing was stolen.
