Couple Arrested After Cocaine-Fueled Joyride Down Hamilton Avenue

Traveling along the border of Carroll Gardens and Red Hook, the car was pulled over for going the wrong way down a one-way street.


A man and woman were arrested for possession of cocaine on the border of Carroll Gardens and Red Hook early Monday morning, after police stopped their car as it was careening into oncoming traffic. 

On Monday, Nov. 19 at 2:37 a.m., officers of the 76th Precinct observed a vehicle driving westbound on the eastbound lane of Hamilton Avenue near Woodhull Street.

After being pulled over, police immediately observed that the driver, a male, 38, had cocaine in a Ziploc bag next to him. In the passenger seat, a woman, 21, was also found to have controlled substances inside of her purse.

Officers subsequently arrested the man and woman and charged them with criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of drugs, and driving the wrong way down one-way street.
