Wednesday, May 22, 6:12 pm: Cops are seeking the public’s assistance in their search for a flamboyantly dressed man who since Monday has threatened and attempted to rob six individuals with a knife in the Carroll Gardens area—slashing at one in the face.

On Monday, May 20, between 7:20 a.m. and 8:20 a.m., a light-skinned black male wearing a very distinctive khaki bubble jacket with camouflage-patterned pants attempted to rob three different youths as they were on their way to school, cops told Patch.

Described as a light-skinned black—possibly Hispanic—male, approximately 16 to 18 years old, standing 5' 8", and weighing roughly 150 pounds, the man approached the students and asked if they had $1.

The thief then whipped out a knife and threatened the teens, while going through their pockets.

He slashed at one in the face, cops said, leaving the skin nicked.

After the incident took place, the students waited to report it to school officials until later in the morning. The school finally reached out to local authorities around noon on Monday, cops said. The subsequent canvass of the area yielded no results.

But since then, the same man threatened and attempted to rob two others in the neighborhood, striking outside of the Carroll St. subway station and at the intersection of Hamilton and Centre Street. During those incidents he was described as wearing silver pants.

“It is a worrisome pattern,” cops said. “But he is easy to spot. He strikes mostly older male teens and wears very unusual clothing.”

Anyone with any information regarding the incidents described above is urged to contact the 76th Precinct Detective Squad at (718) 834-3221
