Computers And Video Equipment Stolen

Robbery and burglary reports from the 76 Precinct

Burglary:

A residential apartment on Clinton Street between Sackett and Union streets was burgled on Thursday, Feb. 10 between 1:45 and 3:15 p.m. Thousands of dollars worth of computers and video equipment was stolen, including two MacBook laptops worth $1,500 and $2,500, a video camera worth $1,000, a 35 MM camera worth $2,500, an iPod wirth $120 and a gold brooch worth $500.

The victim is a 47-year-old male. The crook(s) entered the apartment through the rear window, and there was no forced entry or damage. The fire escape, and adjoining rooftops, are being considered as a possible route of entry, cops said. A canvass of the neighborhood was conducted; no arrests have been made.

Robbery:

Some people will do anything for an iPhone. On Saturday, Feb. 5 at noon a thief grabbed a 29-year-old male from behind and punched him in the jaw before stealing the victim's $450 iPhone and $30 case. The robbery took place on the corner of Court Street and Huntington Street.

Cops want to remind people to be aware of their surroundings and be careful with expensive electronic devices, which thieves love to steal.

"We hate to see this happen again," said Detective Grudzinski of the Community Affairs Office at the .

The theft wasn't reported until Monday, Feb. 7 at 3:50 p.m. Cops request that residents call them right away when a crime occurs.

Commercial Burglary:

A real estate office on Court Street between Amity and Congress streets was burglarized between 6:20 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 11 and 8 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 12. A 62-year-old female employee of the business reported she found the office "ransacked," though nothing has been reported missing yet.

There was no evidence of forced entry through the main door, but an adjoining door to other floors in the building was found open.
