South Brooklyn police are on the hunt for a man suspected of trying to abduct a woman in Carroll Gardens early Monday morning.

While walking toward the intersection of 2nd Place and Court Street, a 27-year-old female was followed by an unknown individual, cops said. The man then allegedly pistol-whipped the woman and tried to drag her inside of a vehicle.

But his target fought back, struggling and yelling—ultimately "spooking" the thug, who then took off, cops said. Now NYPD are in the process of tracing his whereabouts.

No identifying details of the criminal were released as of press time.
