Boerum Hill Man Arrested For Brooklyn College-area Rape

Police have arrested and charged a man with the February rape of a 22-year-old woman near Brooklyn College.

Eric Dancy, 25, of Boerum Hill, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including rape, robbery and assault. 

Dancy, who lives in the Gowanus Houses on Baltic Street, was also charged with criminal sex act, unlawful imprisonment, criminal possession of stolen property and sex abuse, police said.  

At approximately 9:45 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 2, a 22-year-old woman was approached by an unknown man near the intersection of East 27th St. and Glenwood Road.

"The stranger then forcibly took the victim to an alleyway and raped her," cops reported. The woman was also robbed by the suspect.

Following the attack, elected officials and volunteers alerted local commuters and residents of the situation and urged anyone with information to come forward. 

City Council Speaker Christine Quinn, Councilman Jumaane Williams, D-45, and Councilwoman Julissa Ferreras, D-21, circulated flyers with details about the assailant at the subway station on Flatbush and Nostrand avenues, steps away from the site of the attack.
