Armed Man Arrested After Firing at Officers in Red Hook

A man was arrested Thursday evening in Red Hook after firing at officers on Columbia Street, police said.

After receiving information about a man armed with a gun, plain clothes officers from Police Service Area 1 investigated inside 458 Columbia Street. According to police, officers Jovanny Calderone and Dorian Thompson found Calvin Randall, 25, of Harlem, exiting the building within the Red Hook Houses and identified themselves after watching him adjust his waistband.

Arrest Made in Boerum Hill Murder

A Harlem man is facing murder and robbery charges after being arrested Tuesday for a Nov. 8 homicide in Boerum Hill. 

Jermaine Butts, 36, is charged with second-degree murder, two counts of attempted murder in the second degree, second and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon (loaded firearm and piercing ammo) and first-degree robbery.

Cops Nab Burglar at Court Street Grocers

A man was arrested after he was caught breaking into Court Street Grocers in September, police said.

Police: Gunshots Stemmed From Personal Dispute; Fight Not Linked

76th precinct police have confirmed that two incidents at Carroll Park on Sept. 16 are not related.

In the afternoon, a fight erupted between a group of young teenagers playing basketball at the park. Police said that this incident is not linked to the gunshots that were fired later in the evening at the park.

The gun incident, according to police, stemmed from a personal dispute, and shots were fired in the air as a scare tactic directed at certain people in the park.

Update: NYPD Arrest Thwarted Carroll Gardens Abductor

 At approximately 10 p.m. on Monday night, police arrested Willie Weathers, 42, and charged him with "kidnapping, assault and gun charges" in relation to the thwarted abduction at Court Street and 2nd Place.

Update: Carroll Gardens' Fashion-Forward Thug Caught

The man responsible for robbing six people at knifepoint over the last week in Carroll Gardens has been caught.

Cops say the individual—known for his loud fashion ensembles and pattern of approaching victims, asking for a dollar, then whipping out at knife or box cutter—was brought in to custody through the successful joint operation between the 76th Precinct and transit units.

Boerum Hill Man Arrested For Brooklyn College-area Rape

Police have arrested and charged a man with the February rape of a 22-year-old woman near Brooklyn College.

Eric Dancy, 25, of Boerum Hill, was arrested and charged with multiple crimes, including rape, robbery and assault. 

Thugs on Degraw St. Try To Steal Man's Food Cart

An attempted robbery took place on the 60th block of Degraw Street in Brooklyn on Sunday, April 28 at 8 a.m., cops said. The victim, 36, told police that two unknown males attempted to steal his food cart while he was in a garbage retrieving food. 

Arrest Made in Murder of Boerum Hill Assault Victim

A man has been arrested as a suspect in a Brooklyn assault over the weekend that resulted in the death of a local resident, cops reported Tuesday morning. 

Leonardo Martinez, 32, has been charged with second degree murder of David Baron, 44. Both men resided at 50 Nevins Street in Boerum Hill.

Man Convicted for Murder of Boerum Hill Teenage Girl

Rondell Bonds was convicted for murder in the first degree this April for killing Al-Taya Conyers, 16, on May 26, 2010.
