76 Precinct Bulletin: Burglaries and "Forcible Touching"

Captain Jack Lewis updates the community.

Three individuals have been arrested after a rash of burglaries in the 76 and 84 precincts, according to an email update from Captain Jack Lewis of the 76 in Carroll Gardens.

In Carroll Gardens and Cobble Hill, the arrested man was released "due to problems with the identification" but Lewis said the detectives at the 76 are now using forensic evidence from two crime scenes.

"Patrol units will continue to monitor this individual in an effort to deter him from committing further crimes," he wrote.

Early Tuesday morning, two males were arrested for a string of burglaries in the confines of the 84th Precinct, which covers Boerum Hill, Downtown Brooklyn, Brooklyn Heights and Dumbo.

"We believe that there should be a substantial reduction in this type of crime due to these arrests," wrote Lewis, who added that the most common point of entry was the front window next to the top brownstone step.
