Parent Talk: Taking The Kids Out of School For Vacation

This past week I took my children out of school for a trip to Los Angeles. When I first booked the trip, I was a bit torn about taking them out of school for a vacation. However, I quickly weighed the pros and cons, and realized that going would be an incredible experience for them. I believe kids learn so much from travel and it truly expands their view of the world.

Recently, I wrote an article on reasons to take your kids out of school for vacation for Aol Travel. The article sparked a huge debate in the comments section. Some  agreed that taking the kids on a trip and out of school is okay at times. Others felt differently.

And so, I’m asking you:

Would you take your children out of school to travel? If not, when is it appropriate to do so?
