Still have no idea how to spend your weekend? We’ve got you covered. Here are your best bets for a good time come five o’clock Friday: 

1. Celebrity Author Reading & Q&A : Lizz Winstead, co-creator of The Daily Show, a hilarious comedian and insightful social critic, will be reading a selection from her new book Lizz Free or Die: Essays at , Friday May 11 at 7:00 p.m. followed by a Q&A with the crowd and book signing. Swoon! Then, laugh!

2. : If you couldn't score tickets to show at The Bell House, fear not. The original Brooklyn songstress, aka , is playing Barclays Arena on October 11 and the pre-sale for tickets begins Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. But to participate, you need to register for an access code. Get it.

3. Total Red Hook Immersion: Local event gurus BrooklynBased partner with Brooklyn Brewery for their second "Immersion" of the season this Saturday, May 12. Beginning at noon, interested individuals can pick up a free Immersion postcard at Rocky Sullivan’s or Brooklyn Ice House entitling them to various deals around the Hook. Specials range from complimentary Brooklyn Brewery beers to discounted lobster rolls and key lime tarts, plus shopping incentives at stores such as Tiburon and Foxy & Winston. An Instagram photo safari offers up the chance for additional prizes. But even if you don't win anything, you can still enjoy the after party at Jalopy Tavern.

4. : On Saturday, May 12, at 2:00 p.m. the new bakery-cafe-store will celebrate its opening with a toast of milk and cookies as well as a ribbon cutting at their brick-and-mortar outpost located at 521 Court Street, just past 9th St. Welcome them to the neighborhood, why don't you?

5. Bayou in Brooklyn: This three-day cajun music festival will take place Friday through Sunday at the morning through 2:00 a.m. at night. Workshops will range from fiddle-playing to story-telling to performances of traditional Zydeco, all for $15 per day. Tickets are limited, so purchase sooner than later.
