Help the Hungry, Donate Food in Carroll Park

The Friends of Carroll Park have teamed up with City Harvest to collect food for the needy.

Thanksgiving is about giving thanks for what we have, and also remembering to help those less fortunate than ourselves.

This year, the Friends of Carroll Park have teamed up with City Harvest and are holding a food drive at the park house. Stop by on Saturday or Sunday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. to donate items.

Items most needed are:

- canned fruit and vegetables

- peanut butter (plastic jars)

- macaroni and cheese (packaged)

- hot and cold cereal (packaged, family-sized)

Note: City Harvest cannot accept glass containers or dented cans.

The Friends will be collecting food at the park through the New Year. Stay tuned on email, Facebook or Twitter to find out when additional food collections will be held.
