LICH Ups Security Measures as Battle Continues

As the war for Cobble Hill’s Long Island College Hospital wages on following a judge’s Thursday ruling to uphold a temporary restraining order barring it from closure, the hospital has put security guards in place.

On Thursday afternoon, guards stood inside the hospital’s empty main waiting room, in front of the main desk and doors, and outside on the front steps. None outwardly appeared to be armed.

"Everything that is done is done in the best interests of patient health and safety, as well as to ensure the safety of staff and visitors," said Steve Greenberg of Greenberg Public Relations.

One guard said he was not authorized to speak to the press.

What do you think of the hospital’s safety measures? Are they warranted? Let us know in the comments.
