Have You Registered As A Bone Marrow Donor Yet?

Your help could save the life of someone else in Brooklyn.

We know you've been meaning to, and today and tomorrow is your chance. There is a drive at 345 Jay Street until 6 pm today and from 8 to 6 tomorrow (Wednesday May 8).

When Patch stopped by at about 3 p.m. this afternoon, there was a slow-but-steady stream of people signing up.

The process takes about 10 minutes: You fill out a one-page form and then swab the inside of your cheek. There was no wait.

Organizer Mark Segreto said so far about 300 people had registered. He hopes to sign up at least 1000 over the next two days.

The drive is for Dep. Chief Steven J. Bonano and is sponsored by the Brooklyn Nets, Forest City Ratner, the NYPD and other groups.

"It's just so easy to save a life, and the rewards are infinite," said Segreto.
