GOTHAM'S LEFT TURN: New York under Mayor de Blasio & the new City Council

St. Francis College welcomes Dan Cantor, Executive Director of the
Working Families Party and a panel of New York City political writers
and analysts to talk about Gotham’s Left Turn: New York Under Mayor De Blasio & the New York City Council on Wednesday, March 13 beginning at 6:30pm in the College’s Maroney Forum for Arts, Culture and Education.


The event, which will be moderated by St. Francis
Scholar-in-Residence Fred Siegel also features Josh Greenman (Daily
News), Michael Powell (New York Times), Nicole Gelinas (Manhattan
Institute), and Azi Paybarah (Capital New York).


Dan Cantor, Executive Director of the Working Families Party
Dan Cantor, the executive director of the Working Families Party, who
along with Bill De Blasio founded the party in 1998. The party’s rapid
rise as reflected in the 2013 election has made it central to the city’s
future. All three city-wide elected offices, MayorPublic Advocate and Comptroller are held by friends of the WFP. The party also enjoys the support of 40 percent the City Council.

About Fred Siegel
In addition to his work at St. Francis College, Fred Siegel is also a Senior Fellow at the Manhattan Institute and author of The Prince of the City: Giuliani, New York and the Genius of American Life,
has been instrumental in bringing a number of timely and provocative
events to the College. Past forums hosted by St. Francis include The Tension Between Catholic Schools & Charter Schools, Freedom Summer Revisted, Can You be Both a Business Success and Ethically Noble? and Lincoln, Grant and the Civil War.
