Free City Stomp music trial class week

Babies and kids from 6 months to 7 years can experience a
trial class of City Stomp, New York Music for New York Families, for free
during trial class week, Sept. 3 to 9.  Trial
classes run daily at four Brooklyn
locations (dates, times, locations and class formats vary).  Visit www.CityStompMusic.com for class schedules, location and
information.   Trial class free with
reservation to info@citystompmusic.com

Trial classes are
available for two class formats:

City
Stomp Family Music.
Children
sing, dance and play instruments in classes that integrate melodies, harmonies
and rhythms designed to build a strong musical foundation and advance future
learning.  Musical themes vary by 10-week session and are based on
cultural sounds heard in the city (salsa, reggae, folk songs, blues).
Songs about familiar sights and sounds (subways, taxis, Coney
Island) figure in as well.  CD
included.

City Stomp Drum Circle.  One of NYC's most unique classes!  Percussion fundamentals taught in a fun and relaxed setting
designed to nurture the growing musical mind.  Equipped with their own
hand drum (provided) kids learn a new rhythmic concept or rudiment each week,
interspersed with movement, dancing and drum improvisation.  Each 10 week
term concentrates on a style of drumming particular to a culture (African,
Latin, etc.).  Instructor Ethan Meyer is an accomplished drummer in
African, Latin, jazz and rock styles with extensive early childhood teaching
experience.
