Conserve Brooklyn's Greenway!

Join in this FREE environmental conservation volunteer project in Brooklyn on 3/23/14 to remove invasive English ivy that is strangling trees along two sections of the Brooklyn Greenway at Columbia & Atlantic Aves & prepare a new section for spring planting by mulching and spreading compost. This event is part of a yearlong series of public service projects hosted by the Student Conservation Association (SCA) for its March ConSERVE NYC efforts across the 5 boroughs. With weekend conservation projects at new sites each month, ConSERVE NYC offers volunteers the opportunity to help build resiliency in New York City's public lands—and to network with others who share an interest in urban conservation.  The Brooklyn Greenway is a planned 14-mile landscaped route for pedestrians and cyclists along the waterfront of Brooklyn. When complete, the Greenway will connect neighborhood parks and green spaces from Greenpoint to Bay Ridge. The event is FREE to the public & supplies will be provided.  Please inform the community to join in this volunteer effort to conserve the Brooklyn Greenway. Post & share:
