Days Educating the Community of Hannah
Senesh Community
Day School

Hannah Senesh Community
Day School celebrates the
school's namesake with a screening of the documentary film, Blessed is the Match, and a talk with Senesh's
nephew, David Senesh, at Cobble Hill Cinemas on Thursday,  October
24. The event is FREE and Open to the Public.

The film provides a
depiction of the life of the famous poet who is held as a national hero of Israel for her
courageous efforts to help the Jewish people during World War II. 



A lecturer at Levinsky
College of Education in Tel Aviv, David Senesh travels the world speaking about
Hannah Senesh and his personal experience as a POW in the Yom Kippur war.

On Wednesday, October 23rd,
 David Senesh will be at Hannah
Senesh Community
Day School all day
meeting with students in discrete age groups for age-appropriate conversations.
  Senesh students have been preparing for Dr. Senesh's arrival for weeks -
studying poetry by Hannah Senesh, reading her diaries and learning about her
mission as a Zionist and paratrooper. 



Both days events are
sponsored by Hannah Senesh Community
Day School, a Jewish day school in Carroll Gardens committed to the rich and
diverse history of Jewish life, and which strives to enable students to emerge
as engaged members of their Jewish and American communities. The film and
discussion will be at Cobble Hill Cinemas in Brooklyn, NY
on October 24
at 7:30pm. The film is open to the whole community and is free of
