Video: Pebble-Sized Hail Pelts Central Brooklyn

Winter weather brought a noontime scattering of small hailstones across several neighborhoods.

Hail may not be snow, but its arrival shows winter hasn't completely forgotten the New York City area.

A short burst of the frozen ice pellets fell on parts of Brooklyn around noon on Monday, Jan. 28.

As seen in this video, the hailstones averaged about a quarter of an inch across and posed little risk of injury or property damage from falling. However, pedestrians should remain aware of the dangers of slipping, and motorists should take precautions against losing traction.

Good god, she's been here forever! Just say no thanks and move on. She's harmless.
