Traffic Advisory: Repairs on BQE May Affect Your Commute
Hurricane rainfall prompts repairs, partial lane closure on BQE
Beginning tonight at 10:00 p.m. and lasting until 6:00 a.m., repairs will be in effect on the Queens-bound BQE, causing delays for late night traffic and early morning commuters, according to the Department of Transportation.
During this time, the Atlantic Avenue Queens-bound BQE entrance ramp will be closed, with a detour on Furman Street allowing traffic to travel both ways to avoid the construction. Motorists can enter via alternate on-ramps at Tillary and Sands streets.
Repairs will also cause one or two lane closures for Queens-bound traffic.

Repairs are being made due to severe rain levels impacting soil beneath the Queens-bound shoulder on the right-hand lane, causing a cave-in of the shoulder near the Atlantic Avenue entrance at Grace Court.
The nightly lane and exit closures will be in effect until further notice.
