Soup Fest. This Weekend. Get Your Slurp On

The Third Annual Smith Street Soup Festival arrives this weekend on Saturday, October 20. From 1 to 4 p.m. soup lovers can indulge in supping from multiple 4.oz-soup tastings presented by local restaurants from Dassara Ramen to Seersucker, Arthur on Smith and more [complete list here].

If you're thinking, "This is exactly the kind of quirkily delicous reason I moved to this neighborhood!" you're not alone. What we mean is, get there early! Tickets range from $5 for a 5 Tasting sampler, $10 Couples/Gourmets for 12 Tastings, and $20 for a Family-size 25 Tastings.

Speaking of Thanksgiving... Local Roots Has a Turkey-Day Themed Pop-Up CSA!

If you love supporting local farmers and dropping phrases like "this turkey was raised humanely and the hot honey glaze, I roasted it in comes from just down the road in Greenpoint" the Local Roots Pop-Up Thanksgiving CSA is for you. As an added incentive, all orders will come with a *sweet tote bag (it's a trend!) with the Pop-Up Thanksgiving logo. Delivery will be made on Saturday, November 17 or Sunday, November 18 and pick ups are on Tuesday, November 20.
