Parenting Blog Brooklyn Baby Expo Date Finalized

New blog owners Kim Janulewicz and Nicole Horne are sorting the details of the second annual exhibition, which will be held June 2.

Popular parenting blog A Child Grows in Brooklyn has announced its second annual exhibition dedicated to all things parenting will take place this summer.

The Brooklyn Baby Expo will be held on Sunday, June 2, and will have grown considerably since last year's inaugural event, said Kim Janulewicz, the blog's co-owner and a Clinton Hill resident.

"This year it's going to be a little bit bigger, roughly 20 percent bigger" Janulewicz said. "More people will be in attendance, [there will be] more media and more room for additional exhibitors."

The fair will still offer access to many local vendors that offer products and services for families, but represenatives from national brands will also be in attendance, Janulewicz said.

"Some of the big national brands will be raffling off products like car seats, strollers and baby carriers—you name it," she said. "We're going to have tons of products to give away."

Janulewicz said she and co-owner Nicole Horne, who recently took over the blog from founder Karen Connell, are in talks with sponsors and are "very close" to finding a venue.

"We're about ready to close a deal with a venue, we're signing contracts with our big sponors and getting people signed on as exhibitors," Janulewicz said, adding that the expo will likely take place in north central Brooklyn. "It'll be very close to where it was last year."

Further details will be finalized in the next month or so, Janulewicz said, and developments will be announced as they occur.

She also urged local business owners and vendors to reach out if they want to become involved in the expo. "For anyone who's local and who is looking for a great opportunity to promote their businesses, if they have products geared toward expectant parents or parents with young children, be sure to let us know about [you]," she continued.
