Cobble Hill Halloween Parade Brings Smiles, Normalcy to Neighborhood [PHOTOS]

Families, seniors and scary monsters cheer as everyone tries to recover from Sandy

In a brief respite from Sandy recovery efforts, neighbors from Cobble Hill, Carroll Gardens and Boerum Hill gathered together on Wednesday afternoon to participate in the annual Cobble Hill Halloween Parade.

Even as the merry march took families past downed trees and other storm-damaged items, the smiles witnessed on faces of little monsters, Muppets and residents at the Cobble Hill Health Center made evident the need for some treats.

"It seemed like everyone could use a parade," said 76th Precinct Captain Jeffrey Schiff, who has been displaced from his own home in Queens for the last three days due to flooding. "I think everyone is looking to regain a little sense of normalcy after the storm."
