Though the arena reports zero damages, they are canceling the performance due to Hurricane Sandy

Sandy may not have damaged the exterior of the Barclays Center, but the arena has not escaped completely unscathed from the storm's tour of Brooklyn.

The Bowery Presents officials posted an announcement to their site Tuesday evening that they will be canceling the Smashing Pumpkins performance scheduled for Wednesday, October 31 at Barclays Center.

"The Smashing Pumpkins concert tomorrow night at Barclays Center has been postponed due to the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy," reads the site. "Ticket holders should keep their tickets for an upcoming rescheduled date. We will announce more information soon."

Prior to the announcement, representatives of Barclays Center told Patch that the month-old arena sustained zero damages during the storm that shook most of New York City. The outdoor LED screen has been reported intact and all vendors were expected to be operating.

When asked whether the Brooklyn Nets inaugural game would go on as planned, Barclays representatives passed the ball.

That decision will have to come from the NBA, said officials.
