5 Things: 4 & 20 Blackbirds Now Open on Mondays

Plus, other Carroll Gardens-area events and information you won't want to miss.


1. Get a piece of the pie. The pie in question would be from 4 & 20 Blackbirds, which announced via Facebook over the weekend that they will be now be open on Mondays, starting Jan. 21, at 8:00 a.m. Black Bottom Oatmeal, anyone?

2. Join the rally. Inspired by Rev. Martin Luther King Jr.'s message of nonviolence and vision of a better future for our children, One Million Moms For Gun Control - Brooklyn Chapter will be demonstrating and demanding "meaningful action on common-sense gun control legislation." Meet 9:15 a.m., Cadman Plaza Park in Brooklyn, corner of Middagh Street and Cadman Plaza West.

3. Watch the inauguration festivities. President Barack Obama will be given the oath of office for his second term by Chief Justice John Roberts on the Capitol steps at 11:30 a.m. All major networks are planning to televise the event, with some beginning their coverage as early as 9:30 a.m. Check your local listings for more information.

4. Enjoy a few laughs. Comedian Wyatt Cenac (“The Daily Show,” “King of the Hill”) and Producer Marianne Ways (“Hot Tub with Kurt and Kristen”), in conjunction with Littlefield, will be hosting their weekly comedy showcase NIGHT TRAIN this evening, featuring Reggie Watts, D.C. Benny, Naomi Ekperigin, Scorr Moran and more. 7:30 p.m., $5 - $8.

5. Don't move the car. In observance of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, alternate-side parking rules are suspended today.
