5 Brooklyn Halloween Parties Worth Dressing Up For

Where to show off your best Psy or "binders" costume, while balancing a cocktail.

Whether you've been furiously sewing since September or simply picked up a set of ears and a tail from American Apparel, chances are you're planning to hit the streets in your Halloween costume on Saturday, October 27 to party with all the other ghouls and gals.

Here is our roundup of 5 Brooklyn Halloween Parties Worth Dressing Up For (21+) that night:

1. The Brazen Head Halloween Party

An old spooky standard. Expect $5 pumpkin beers, $4 scary shots, some "ghoulish punches", sweet treats and old scary movies on display. Plus, the crowning of someone’s best costume at midnight: $50 gift certificate first prize, two bottles of Champagne for second place. 9 p.m. - 12 a.m. 228 Atlantic Ave., Boerum Hill

2.  Union Hall’s Crazy Since the 90s – Halloween Edition - Party

This monthly dance party devoted to 90s music is adding vampire teeth and wolf masks to the mix. Guests are invited to arrive “decked out as your favorite 90s cultural icon.” A costume contest will go down at midnight for “the most awesome” one. 10 p.m. – late, $5 in advance, $8 door. 702 Union Street, Park Slope

3. Brooklyn Bridge Park’s All Hallows Eve Bash

Hosted by the BBPC Junior Committee, this benefit will likely be a more conservative Halloween affair considering the steep price of admission. Music, hors d’oeuvres, open bar and wine tasting are promised, costumes are encouraged. 8p.m. - 12 a.m. Tickets $60-$500: http://bbpcallhallowseve.eventbrite.com/ Brooklyn Bridge Park, DUMBO

4. Essence Bar’s pre-Halloween Party

An annual tradition, this Bed-Stuy bar will be offering shots and drink specials all night long. Owners advise patrons dress to impress (or scare). There will be a whopping $100 prize for best costume! 9 p.m. - 12 a.m. 1662 Atlantic Ave, Bed-Stuy

5. Therapy Wine Bar’s Little Black Dress Halloween

We can only imagine the little devils that will be flocking to this fete, where the $25 admission price gets you a bottle of wine and an adult goodie bag. Owners have dubbed it Bed-Stuy’s sexiest Halloween Party and we are apt to agree. 8 p.m. - 2 a.m. 364 Lewis Avenue, Bed-Stuy

Good god, she's been here forever! Just say no thanks and move on. She's harmless.
