Van Horn Restaurant Searching For New Head Chef

Excellent knife skills needed in Cobble Hill.

You never know what you might find on Craigslist. The offerings can range from someone's old kitchen electronics to a 'Help Wanted' job listing for running one of Cobble Hill's most popular restaurants. Literally.

According to a notice posted on Sunday afternoon, the Southern-comfort-food focused Van Horn & Company, located at 231 Court Street is searching for a new "Kitchen Manager/Head Chef."

The restaurant has been most recently helmed by Michael Stokes (previously of Prune, Mile End) and before that Rick Hauchman, who had served time at Roberta's before opening the dining establishment with owner Jacob Van Horn in 2011.

Since then it has gained high marks for its fried chicken sandwich and BLP. Carroll Gardens Patch recently stopped in for lunch on a rainy day and also found the tomato soup and shaved kale salad to be delightful

Skills required for consideration include "excellent knife skills, menu development, scheduling and ordering," among others. Those interested can find the complete description on Craigslist.
