The Elephant in Boerum Hill: Is Krescendo Cursed?

Another chef has exited the Brooklyn pizzeria.

Let's not beat around the buffalo mozzarella: For the second time in less than a year, Krescendo restaurant's chef has left.

The Neopolitan pizzeria opened in Boerum Hill last winter under the watchful eye and distinguished knife skills of celebrity chef Elizabeth Falkner, who relocated from San Francisco to oversee the operation. When Falkner left, mysteriously, after just seven months, her shoes were quickly filled by Robert Moorman (North End Grill, Riverpark). But now he is out too, according to Eater.

Citing differences with the owners, Moorman told the food blog that he hopes to "venture out on my own with my own project" soon. Falkner, in the meantime, recently launched another restaurant, Corvo Bianco, on Manhattan's Upper West Side. It officially opened this week.

All of this begs the question: Is the Krescendo kitchen cursed? Or is the second Brooklyn chef exodus just a case of unfortunate repeat circumstances?
