Shrimp Tempura Salad from Bar Bruno

A salad that was a meal.

The had the neighborhood waiting with baited breath. While south Henry Street is home to great haunts like the and , a cafe to grab dinner, drinks, coffee or just a light bite, has been sorely missing.

Not anymore.

Bar Bruno is warm and inviting, fun and lively, and most importantly, serves great food. First of all, they bring you fried plantains! We ordered a burger - classic - and the shrimp tempura salad.

The shrimp were delicious, and I actually don't normally eat many shrimp. The reason why? The tempura batter: it was light and sweet. Also tempura'd- eggplant slices. The salad itself, watercress, parsley and radish, was dressed in a light miso dressing. This was a refreshing dish, and a great dinner because I felt full, but not like I had been overcooked myself!

Head to Bar Bruno, you won't regret it.
