Rumors Pairing Battersby Team With Vinzee's Space Build
The long vacant Court Street restaurant may have found its next owner.
Rumors are mounting that one of Carroll Gardens' most consistently packed and critically renowned restaurants is expanding.
Eater posted on Tuesday that Battersby chefs Walker Stern and Joseph Ogrodnek may be eyeing the long-shuttered Vinzee's Magic Fountain space, located on Court Street, which would give them more room to work in.
A knowledgeable source has since told Patch that a second restaurant is definitely in the works.
And the quotes below, given to Eater back in December by both Battersby chefs, would appear to confirm it:
"What about the rumors of a new restaurant?
Joseph: It will happen one day.
Walker: We definitely want to do another place, but we're just trying to do it right, do it smart, so there's nothing really to report. We've definitely been laying down the groundwork for some stuff."
Battersby is located at 255 Smith Street, between Douglass and Degraw.
