Rucola Now Serving Four & Twenty Blackbirds!

The Boerum Hill restaurant sliced its first of many pies last night.

According to a short alert on EaterNY, beloved Boerum Hill restaurant Rucola has joined forced with Gowanus's darling dessert duo Four & Twenty Blackbirds to begin serving slices of the sisters' popular pies after dinner.

"The selection will change frequently, but expect the Salty Caramel and Cranberry Sage variations on the menu sometime soon," EaterNY wrote.

A call to Rucola this afternoon confirmed the collaboration.

"I've known Emily and Melissa for some time," said managing partner Julian Brizzi, referring to Four and Twenty Blackbirds' founders. "We intially met at Prime Meats when they came in to eat and I was bartending there. Since then, we've had a longterm relationship and we had talked about doing something together at Rucola since we opened. They've just increased their production facility enough recently to the point where they were able to add us as a regular client. So, we're thrilled."

While the pies will feature most prominently at the dinner service, Brizzi allowed that if someone requests a slice during breakfast or lunch it will be made available. With the restaurant already selling two pies a day since Monday, those off-the-menu requests may be the best way to go.
