Levant To Replace Palmyra

Pardon Me For Asking reports that a new Middle Eastern restaurant named Levant will be playing musical chairs with recently shuttered Middle Eastern restaurant at 316 Court Street. The new owners told PMFA, "This is our first restaurant to be open and we chose Carroll Gardens because we love its charm... Our traditional food that we eat at home needs 3-4 hours to prepare. It is called Tabeekh. At Levant, we will be offering a daily dish of Tabeekh (something different each day). We will also be serving Manakeesh, which are a cross between pita and pizza." Additional items on the menu will include Arabic burgers, various meat skewers and potato dishes. Bill Feldman from Chopped on Food Network will preside over the brunch service, adding a Middle Eastern twist to traditional pancakes and egg dishes.

Runner & Stone To Debut This Summer

According to Gowanus Your Face Off, a bakery and restaurant called Runner & Stone will be setting up shop at 285 Third Avenue between President and Carroll Streets. The new business was given a shout-out by the Brooklyn Flea, which heralded its chocolate croissant and said to expect "house-made bread and pastries, as well as delicious food and wine." To preview the goods, you can check out their site or visit the Fort Greene Brooklyn Flea.

Prime Meats to Recreate Epic Last Supper on The Titanic

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the Titanic,  will prepare "the very same menu served on the Titanic in First Class" on April 15. The $115 10-course dinner will include esoteric dishes such as "Roast Squab with Watercress Vichyssoise" and "Filet Mignon Lili" as well as wine and beverage pairings—plus, punch. Black ties are suggested. Nearby  will be showing Tinanic 3D at 4:30 p.m. the same day, if you want to make it a two-fer.
