Brooklyn Local Hits This Weekend

On Saturday, September 22, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. enjoy artisanal food vendors, craft beer and wine all with the spectacular view of the Manhattan skyline and Brooklyn Bridge. Plus, a kidzone with day-long activities like "decorating pretzels." Admission $10, kids under 5 get in free. ll proceeds go to City Harvest!

Bergen Bagels Coming to Court

According to Brownstoner, CPEX announced that Bergen Bagels signed a lease for the 1,500 square-foot-space at 285 Court Street. This will be the fourth Brooklyn location for the popular bagel shop. No opening date has been announced.

New Greek Restaurant To Be Called Avlee

Pardon Me For Asking spilled some details last week regarding the new Greek restaurant opening in the old Joe Superette space. "The new Greek/Mediterranean restaurant, which is slated to open at 349 Smith Street later this fall, will be called 'Avlee,'" wrote blogger Katia Kelly. "According to owners Andrew Poulos and Peter Rogakos, the eatery will have counter service and seating both inside and in the back yard." Here's hoping for some stellar spanokopita.
