Final Episode of No Reservations To Feature Boerum Hill's Brooklyn Fare

Anthony Bourdain's long-running travel series, No Reservations, recently announced that it will be airing its final episode this fall. This was immediately followed by the news that Bourdain will move on to other pastures—CNN! The final episode of No Reservations focuses on a food mecca close to all of our hearts—Brooklyn—and the man in black will reportedly pay a visit along with renowned French chef Eric Ripert to Boerum Hill's very own Brooklyn Fare, located at 200 Schermerhorn Street at Hoyt Street. No word yet on what they ate, so we'll have to all tune in.

Dassara Ramen Puts Up Steamy Mural On Pull-Down Gate

The Japanese noodle house, Dassara Ramen, that will be taking over the space , has moved further along in its renovations, throwing up a mural last week on the outside of its pull-down gate featuring a steaming bowl of noodles. On Wednesday night, the restaurant owners will learn whether their request for a liquor license (sake pairs well with noodles, natch) will be approved by Community Board 6.

Speaking of Steam(ers), Brooklyn Crab is Officially Open

As we mentioned in of summer activities, "the  from the owners of  is officially open, serving up a menu of peel-and-eat shrimp, steam pots, crab cakes, fried oyster rolls and more. But the kicker to all this seaside excitement is that they've outfitted their mammoth three-story structure with bocce courts, miniature golf and a cornhole toss to boot. So you can work up an appetite while you wait in what will surely be long lines of crab-loving denizens." 

Media Belatedly Remembers 'Joe Marco Polo' is Landlord of 16 Handles

There was some buzz in the food media over the weekend after a story in The New York Post ran interviewing Joe Chirico about the closure of Joe's Luncheonette, his business at 349 Court Street for 45 years, and decision to rent to the frozen-yogurt chain afterward. Chirico, who also owns , pleaded guilty in 2008 to laundering Mafia money and served a 10-month sentence on house arrest, the paper reported. No new news, here. But the article did yield the information that 16 Handles signed a 10-year lease with Chirico. Good thing everyone is happy with .
