Dinosaur BBQ in Gowanus Nears Opening

The famed restaurant chainlet's new Brooklyn outpost has made strides in construction and is hiring staff.

Brooklyn's got baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back, baby back ribs—and soon it will have one more barbecue joint to add to its roster.

Dinosaur BBQ, the renowned Syracuse-based chainlet offering pork ribs, Mojito Chicken Breast sandwiches and peel 'n' eat shrimp, is due to open up its second NYC outpost later this month in Gowanus. And despite a Hurricane Sandy-related setback, all signs point to systems go.

The restaurant was originally due to open its doors in March. But after Sandy removed the space's roof, its timeline was altered. Since then, owners have rebuilt and added an artistic component: "ceiling art made from antique whiskey bottles found under Brooklyn overpasses," according to The Post-Standard

Outside, other recent additions include a neon sign and window dressings. Plus, the owners put out a search for new employees online
