Crop To Cup Gowanus Now Open

Half-priced drinks today and Four and Twenty Blackbirds baked goods everyday.

The big day is here: cult fav and ex-Atlantic Avenue cooperative coffee joint Crop to Cup opens in its today.

"We were supposed to open a long time ago, so its been a long time coming," said co-owner Taylor Mork. "We’re glad we took it slow and did it right though.”

Crop to Cup brews family-grown coffee from Uganda and Burundi (check out the new brew!) and features importing and wholesale operations. Bags of beans are sold at the shop as well as baked goods from local neighbor .

"We finally convinced Four and Twenty Blackbirds to sell us some really nice scones and cookies and stuff," said Mork. "We’re their first wholesale customer – we really had to convince them."

The owners are glad to be in their new location at 541A Third Avenue near 13th Street.

"It’s been great being around Gowanus already," said Mork. "It’s such a great place to start a business."

The new Crop to Cup is really focusing on the coffee experience: they've said goodbye to drip coffee forever. Instead, the baristas will use a four-station pour over bar.

"There’s no brewing ‘machines,'" said Mork.

The new location also boasts a "massive" garden. We can't wait for Spring!

To help celebrate, drinks are half-priced all day. Crop to Cup is open from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
