Cobble Hill Ballet Opens Studio in Carroll Gardens

New studio opens on the corner of Court and Carroll.

Known to her hundreds of ballet students simply as "Miss Colette,” the founder of Cobble Hill Ballet, Colette Linton-Meyer, recently opened her second dance studio in the neighborhood last week.

A large space at 232 Carroll Street, on the corner of Court and Carroll, the newly renovated studio will allow the dance school to expand its offering of Classical ballet, Pointe and Modern classes to dance lovers of all ages.

"I am so thrilled to be able to bring our ballet classes to Carroll Gardens," LintonMeyer said. "When I started offering classes at Christ Church in Cobble Hill ten years ago, I had no idea it would lead to me having two beautiful studios in the neighborhood."

Classes range from Twinkle Two’s for beginning toddlers, to all levels of ballet for children. There are also adult classes and private sessions available.

The mother of two lives in Brooklyn and trained at the Royal Academy of Dance in England. She has been teaching the Royal Academy training method in New York for the past 19 years now.

"I get such pleasure from the children from the tiny ballerinas who walk into the studio dressed all in pink, to the teenagers who come and are so committed to their classes," she said.
