Celebrity Chef Elizabeth Falkner Leaves Krescendo

A statement Thursday announced the split at the Boerum Hill restaurant.

After just seven months meticulously tossing pizza dough in Brooklyn, celebrity chef Elizabeth Falkner has mysteriously announced that she is leaving the restaurant that lured her across the country.

In a release quoted on Eater, the Iron Chef and Top Chef Masters alum stated that she is exiting Krescendo—the Boerum Hill pizzeria she opened in November after leaving the Bay Area—but that it will carry on without her.

"My goal after moving to New York was to help open Krescendo," read the quote. "After only seven months, I am very proud of the restaurant we've created. Krescendo has grown into a fun place with positive reviews and will continue to produce delicious pizzas."

Falkner's previous restaurants have included Citizen Cake and Orson, both based in San Francisco. She has not announced plans for a new restaurant in New York.

In January, New York Times Restaurant Critic Pete Wells wrote of Falkner, "she can assemble a complex fleet of ingredients that seem to be headed for a nasty collision and send them whizzing around the racetrack."

But for the time being, it appears she's taken her cooking off the grid.
