Carroll Gardens Association Launches Two New Employment Workshops

The Workforce Readiness Program and the Entrepreneur Assistance Program will both provide free job services coordinated by attorney Bill Drewes.

 

Whether you're looking to reenter the workforce or trying to develop an entrepreneurial venture, two new programs being offered by the Carroll Gardens Association may be able to help.

Attorney Bill Drewes, a 40-year veteran of business counseling and employment law is coordinating a Workforce Readiness Program and an Entrepreneur Assistance Program to assist neighbors in a variety of different ways.

For those pursuing employment opportunities, the Workforce Readiness Program will offer workshops and one-on-one counseling sessions on resume writing, interviewing skills, making presentations, workplace etiquette, utilizing job search resources and marketing oneself. In addition, free computer classes and referrals for job placement with CGA partners will be available. 

Those who need to grow and expand their businesses would be better suited to pursue the Entrepreneur Assistance Program, which will focus workshops on business development, legal and financial assistance and other topics such as

 - Business Licensing from NYC Department of Consumer Affairs

 - Buying a Franchise 

 - NYS/NYC Tax Compliance

 - NYS/NYC Contract Procurement

 - Emarketing, Ecommerce, Social Media

and Minority/Women-Owned Business Certification 

“These programs are an effective means of fostering business development and creating employment opportunities in our catchment area of Southwest Brooklyn as well as the entire borough of Brooklyn” said Vilma Heramia, Executive Director, of the Carroll Gardens Association in a released statement.
