A Chicken Club from Maybelle's

A great sandwich

It's well established that this reporter .

Maybelle's is just around the corner and has been open for a few months now, but the afternoon I ate the chicken club was my first in what was once the Cammareri Bakery.

All seats in the Cafe were taken, so I ate outside in the sun on the comfortable bench and enjoyed a great chicken club. The white bread was perfectly toasted, and the chicken thickly cut and moist.

(To be honest, it's hard to get this wrong.)

The detail that threw this club from good to great? Avocado mayo. On a sandwich like this, juiciness is integral. With avocado mixed into it, the mayo became more affective.

I didn't get the third piece of bread on the sandwich. I personally don't think it's necessary, and I like what goes inside the bread better than the what holds the insides in. Do you agree with me? Or do you call blasphemy?!
