340 Court Street Development Back on Track

The former Clarett Site is now being developed by the Boston based Davis Companies.

In March, the Clarett Group, which was developing the former ILA medical center site at 340 Court Street into condominiums, closed its Manhattan office, throwing the future of the site, which has into question.

Yesterday, Prudential Real Estate Investors and The Davis Companies, a Boston-based real estate development, investment and management company, announced plans to continue with the development of 340 Court Street.

At a , Vincent Joseph of the Union-Sackett Block Association, said the group planned to contact Prudential to be sure certain neighborhood concerns -- such as safety issues, schools, traffic -- would be addressed when the development was back on track.

Reached Thursday, Joseph said the community would come together and decide how to proceed.

According to the release on the partnership, 340 Court Street will be a seven-story building featuring 32 condominiums, 11 individual townhouses, a retail component and 67 parking spaces.
