Where/When: Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10 from 12 - 2 p.m. and 4 - 6 p.m.

Why Go: Brooklyn Bridge Park will host family friendly activities involving recycling this weekend. Make art with found materials. The activities will inspire you to reduce, reuse and recycle!

Tunnels!

Where/When: The Transit Museum, Downtown Brooklyn on Saturday and Sunday, July 9 and 10 at 1:30 p.m.

Why Go: Create pretend tunnels in the "How’d we Make That?: Tunnels Workshop," where kids will learn about a variety of tunnels from underwater tunnels to deep mine tunnels. The workshop is best for kids 5 and up.

Pricing: Free with admission. Admission is $6 for adults and $3 for kids 3 - 17

 

PowerHouse Arena Reading

Where/When: PowerHouse Arena in Dumbo on Sunday, July 10 from 4  - 5 p.m.

Why Go: Authors and Artists Frank Viva and Stephen Savage read from their visually delightful children’s books. Frank Viva is giving away free Whigby wrapping paper with a purchase of Along A Long Road.

Pricing: Free

 

See a Magic Show!

Where/When: on Thursday, July 14 at 4 p.m.

Why Go: Be prepared to see some cool tricks when Magician Jim Vagias visits the library to entertain kids. The show is ideal for kids ages 3 - 12.

Watch Ghostbusters Outside

Where/When: Pier 1 in Brooklyn Bridge Park on Thursday July 11 from 6 - 11 p.m. 

Why Go: Bring a blanket and see a film at Brooklyn Bridge Park, but you might be distracted by the stunning views of the city. Have fun introducing your kids to the 80s classic. The film series starts at 6 p.m. with DJs spinning tunes. The show runs a bit late, so this is better suited for older kids.
